Three 'Ugly Ducklings' wage bingo war!

Whether you play bingo online or offline, it's usually one of the friendliest things you can do – but not for two sisters, whose bingo fun time quickly became war after one of them struck a massive £50,000.00 jackpot! Allegedly, the sisters had promised each other to split the prize if any of them got lucky! However, after the dream win became a reality, the charitable sister quickly said her promise was just a joke – leaving her siblings going bingo bonkers!

For Doreen Thomas and Linda Kenny, the actions of their sister Edna was far from funny! In fact, they took her to court to fight for their share of the £50,000 – won playing at the Buckingham Bingo Palace in Merseyside.

According to Judge Derek Halbert, the fact that Edna admitted to agreeing to split the prospective cash with her sisters, meant that she was legally obliged to cough up the cash to her livid sisters! Unfortunately, the court's decision hasn't gone down too well with Edna, who claims she has already blown the cash on a bit of luxury! This is one bingo blitz that that could roll on and on!

So, what does this all mean for the average bingo gamer playing on the web? Well, while it may seem a little silly, you really need to be careful about promising other players a slice of your profits (even if it's said light heartedly!) In fact, a verbal agreement actually binds you legally to the promise! On the other hand, just because someone promises you something like, 'wish me luck, and if I win you can have half', doesn't mean they really mean it – and you'll probably have a fight on your hands to get the cash!

So, the take home bingo message is to avoid making agreements over your potential wins, unless you're 100% serious about paying out! Remember – while online bingo is usually 100% fun and friends, you might chat to people who you don't know very well. So, get people to wish you luck, but promise the bingo cash all to yourself!
