Bingo Market Still Strong Online

The UK Gambling Commission is extremely well respected when it comes to revealing the latest gambling and bingo statistics – and a new report suggests that the position and popularity of web bingo parlours have never been stronger.

Releasing the data that studied the habits of thousands of online gamers and gamblers, the just released quarterly report showed that the online gambling industry expanded by nearly 10% during the last quarter of 2008, while bingo's share of the market grew to maintain a 1.1% share of the market. The growth of online bingo contrasts sharply with the decline of the traditional bingo halls offline.

What's more, the survey from the UK Gambling Commission also revealed new growth sectors within the bingo industry, such as a wider range of age groups playing the game and niche groups such as male bingo players becoming more defined. These trends can be seen with the growth of specialist bingo sites such as Bloke Bingo – and the report suggests that the bingo market will continue to grow through out 2009.
